The majority of the population in the project area can suffer from
bouts of illness, including prolonged cold and respiratory illnesses. Emphasis will be on the promotion of
efficient cookstoves to reduce indoor air pollution and related risks to people’s health.

The project will ensure the participation of women and marginalised groups
across all project activities by actively involving them from the very beginning and developing targeted
interventions wherever possible in livelihood development, training, capacity building and leadership.

The project will promote alternative and efficient sources of energy
catering to specific needs of the stakeholders. It will provide opportunities for some of the most impacted
households to access efficient cookstoves and or biomass pellets, whilst exploring opportunities for solar
water purification systems.

Decent Work and Economic Growth
The project will generate new employment for local
community members, aid in diversification and improvement of livelihoods through capacity
development, supporting processing units for agricultural produce, setting up entrepreneur activities and
adopting sustainable landscape management practices. This will help ensure improvement in
participant’s overall quality of life.

This project will sequester millions of tonnes of CO2e and contribute to the
resilience of the local communities. It will aid in enhancing tree cover and soil organic carbon, and lead to
sustainable land management outcomes that support the climate.

Transforming thousands of hectares of lands into a more productive landscape,
increasing the tree cover, restoring ecosystem functions, enhancing the soil microbiome, and soil organic
